This excursion is of great cultural, natural and landscape interest as the area visited runs down from the snowy peaks of the Sierra Nevada to the shores of the Mediterranean. Given its variety of microclimates it is considered as one of Europe's greatest enclaves of botanical interest, inherited from the Arabs. Its spectacular landscape with clusters of small white villages with flat earthen roofs (terrados) and terraced farmland that reaches over 2,000m make this an essential visit.
We pass through Lanjarón, famous medicinal spa town, Orgiva, center of the Alpujarra region, and a series of picturesque villages and hamlets such as: Caratunas, Pampaneira, Pitres, Pórtugos with its natural spring and Trevélez, the highes village in Europe. We then continue through Bubión to Capileira perched above the marvellouse Ravine of Poquiera where a typical Alpujarreño lunch will be served.
VISITS INCLUDE: The spa of Lanjaron and the "Pedro Antonio de Alarcón" museum. The price includes: transport, guide and lunch. The order of the visits to the monuments shall be accompanying guide depending on time and traffic. |
